Posted on 07/08/2025

About PMIS: The Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS) is a government initiative aimed at enhancing the employability of students by providing structured internship opportunities in collaboration with industry partners and government institutions. It seeks to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical workplace experience. Points Discussed in the Meeting: • The objectives and structure of PMIS were explained in detail to the staff, based on the recent Capacity Building Workshop held at IIT Delhi Extension, Sonipat. • Faculty members raised queries and concerns, which were duly addressed by the Principal and TPO. • Teachers were informed about their expected role in identifying and encouraging eligible students to apply for the internship program. • The target group—mainly final-year undergraduate students and other eligible batches—was clearly discussed. • It was decided that regular monitoring and reporting responsibilities would be taken up by the Principal, with support from the TPO. • The importance of the scheme in improving student employability and fostering industry-academia collaboration was emphasized.
